Elissa Abou Tasse wins Acqua Panna Award for Connection in Gastronomy
On 30th October, in the glamorous setting of Milan's Palazzo del Senato, Acqua Panna was delighted to present the Acqua Panna Award for Connection in Gastronomy to chef Elissa Abou Tasse from the Africa and Middle East region.
Chef Elissa Abou Tasse beat 11 other regional finalists to take the global title, and the award recognised her success in reflecting the connection between different cultures through her signature dish 'Adam’s garden'.
The Acqua Panna award was one of several prizes presented at the conclusion of the Grand Finale of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy 2021 competition.
The others were the S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility, won by chef Callan Austin from the Africa and Middle East region, and the Fine Dining Lovers Food For Thought Award, voted by the Fine Dining Lovers global online community, which was awarded to chef Andrea Ravasio from the Iberian and Mediterranean Countries region.
In the main event, chef Jerome Ianmark Calayag from the UK and Northern Europe region beat all of his competitors from around the world to earn the coveted title of S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy 2021.
